THROWBACKTHISDAY, FEB 11; The Lateran Treaty is signed

On Thisday Feb. 11th, 1929  The Lateran Treaty is signed, with Italy recognizing the independence and sovereignty of Vatican City.

The agreements included a political treaty which created the state of the Vatican City and guaranteed full and independent sovereignty to the Holy See.
