THROWBACKTHISDAY, FEB 11; Egypt’s President Mubarak Resigns After Protests

On Thisday 11th February, 2011   After being in power for thirty years, President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt resigns.

Mubarak had refused to step down earlier as protesters demanded his removal after weeks of anti-government sentiment. The army was given power after Mubarak’s resignation and was called upon to facilitate the transition into civil government.
