On Thisday Feb. 10th, 2009 Two satellites collide in Space Over Siberia the Iridium 33 live ( US Owned communications satellite ) and Kosmos-2251 retired ( Russian military communications satellite ) collide.
As the number of satellites In Use and those no longer in operation the chances of collisions increase Currently 6,000 satellites are in orbit and about 3,000 remain operational.
